Upon digging into our mailbox, we stumbled onto this treat from The Chainsmokers, which turns out to be a fantastic indie progressive house remix of The Colourists‘ “Fix This” off their newest EP “Lido“. You may or may not recognize The Chainsmokers from some of their past remixes, or more importantly, their next most recent track “#Selfie” that caught itself some viral attention.
Back on topic; “Fix This” does a great job playing to The Chainsmokers strengths with some light, fresh vocals, and a nice progressive house melody, coupled with a nice drop to finish it off, it’s definitely a track worth giving a listen!

It’s been a long wait since Audien teased festival listeners with his preview of “Circles“, quickly becoming a highlight of his fantastic 1-hour set at Tomorrowland 2013. The track expands on what was already previously played, leaving us with little in terms of surprises, but in this case, that’s a great thing, given the version played during his set was near perfect.
The track features Ruby Project on the vocals, which Audien fans will remember from “These are the days“, and it’s worth noting that she delivers yet again.

UK’s GotSome ‘Bassline’ EP, which was released a few months ago, was met with very positive reviews and garnered a lot of support. AMTRAC has given the EP’s title track Bassline a remix that’ll really make you groove. The real magic hits near the 3-minute mark when AMTRAC samples Latyrx’s hip hop classic Lady Don’t Tek No, and gears shift from deep to funky house. Guaranteed to get stuck in your head. Unfortunately there is no mention of a release date.

The UK producer Lxury captivated the electronic world back in September with his debut track J.A.W.S (still one of my favorite tunes of 2013). Now, he’s made a killer remix of Lies from the synthpop trio Chvrches. Much like J.A.W.S, this remix has Lxury’s amazing signature bouncy synth arrangements. Add Lauren Mayberry’s stunning vocals and you get some serious ear candy. Give it a listen below.
And in case you missed out, we provided J.A.W.S below as well. Seriously worth a listen: it’s unique, it’s mesmerizing, and it’s fantastic!

Unlike many producers, Apashe has formal training in the field of electroacoustics. This skill is truly showcased in what may be one of the dirtiest trap tunes ever made. Black Gold is part of Apashe’s 4th EP called Black Mythology on Kannibalen Records. The vocoded vocals give it a very dark feel, and the gritty bassline and massive drops hit this one out of the park. Unreal!

By now, It’s no secret that the New Jersey natives Cash Cash have a mesmerizing way with their vocal work for their tracks, Making Kiss the Sky one of the best, uplifting and snappy songs we’ve heard this month. The trio lays out the track with outstanding sound design, and great drops, and the vocal work really leaves you feeling like you just listened to the latest Justice track. Kiss The Sky comes part of the “Overtime” EP which is packed with some treats, both new and old, which is available for purchase on iTunes

Bassnectar has released a remastered version of a classic remix in tribute of the late DJ/composer/producer Cheb i Sabbah. The song, Alkher Illa Doffor, was originally featured on Bassnectar’s 2007 studio album Underground Communication. Bassnectar wrote on his soundcloud:
Cheb i Sabbah was a musical pioneer, fusing together entire cultures of sound and music, pushing cutting edge blends of traditional songs with beats and ideas which were way ahead of his time.
“Chebiji” as he was affectionately known passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66, and we are releasing this special remaster as a benefit to his family: he has two kids and three grandkids, who are largely dependent on him. All the proceeds from this remix will go straight to the family.
Not only can you add this great remix to your library for as little as $1, but you can also support a worthy cause. Hit the “download” to get the track and for more info.
